COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — The U.S. Forest Service is lifting a closure where a wildfire was intentionally started to ambush firefighters in Coeur d’Alene.
The Forest Service says the Canfield Mountain area is back open where the Nettleton Gulch Fire is burning.
While the fire is 100% contained, people should still be aware of firefighters in the area working on suppression on and near trails.
Law enforcement suspects a man of intentionally starting the fire to lure firefighters into an ambush. Two were killed and a third severely injured.
