HARRISON, Idaho — The East Side Fire District used its annual pancake breakfast to help remember the fallen Kootenai County firefighters.
Coeur d’Alene Battalion Chief John Morrison and Kootenai County Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Frank Harwood died in an ambush in Coeur d’Alene on Sunday. Coeur d’Alene Fire Engineer David Tysdal was shot but survived.
The pancake breakfast included raffle prizes, logo wear and an opportunity for the community to “Fill the Boot” for the fallen firefighters.
Kids at the breakfast also made personalized get-well cards for Tysdal, who is still recovering in the hospital.
“We’re sending him all of our love and support,” East Side Fire District said in a Facebook post.
