SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Fire Department is reminding residents that burn restrictions are in place.
The restrictions were issued earlier this week for all outdoor burning within the city.
During the restriction, you cannot open burn or have any backyard fire pits or campfires going. It is still okay to use barbecues, fireplaces, patio warmers and chimneys as long as proper precautions are in place.
Anyone who violates these burn restrictions risk being issued an infraction.
SFD says these restrictions help protect air quality and reduce the risk of fires during the dry and warm summer months.
“Each summer around this time, we as a community take steps to reduce our risk of wildfires,” Spokane Fire said.
