SPOKANE, Wash. — Everyone is welcome to celebrate Spokane’s Unity in the Community festival next month in Riverfront Park.
This free, family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, August 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s theme is “Strength in Community, Power in Diversity.”
Event organizers say this event brings people together through cultural performances, educational activities and inclusive community engagement.
Organizers say over the years, the event has provided more than 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies, distributed over 300 bicycle helmets and given away children’s books to community members.
This year, Gonzaga University’s Braeden Smith will join with organizers before the event to help pack school supply bags. Smith will also be present at the event to hand out Golden Tickets and sign autographs.
Other highlights of this year’s event include a health, youth and career fair, a youth area with fun activities, a dedicated senior area and booths from local agencies and organizations.
