SPOKANE, Wash. — A major water infrastructure project will impact traffic in northwest Spokane starting next week.
The city will begin installing a new water transmission main on Monday, July 7.
Phase one of this project will start at the Francis Avenue, Assembly Street and Driscoll Boulevard Junction. It will then move west to Rifle Club Road with residential and intersection closures along the way.
Beginning on Monday, July 7, temporary traffic signals will be in place for all four directions at the intersection of Francis Avenue and Assembly Street.
Northbound Assembly Street will be closed between Rowan Avenue and Francis Avenue with a detour in place. Southbound Assembly Street will also be closed between Francis Avenue and Rowan Avenue with detours in place.
The city said construction work will be done between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Everyone is asked to slow down in the area, plan for extra travel time and make the extra effort to support businesses impacted by the construction.
This first phase of construction is expected to last until Friday, August 15.
