SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Washington State Patrol released the names of three troopers who fired their weapons during a deadly shooting of a carjacking suspect in Spokane Valley earlier this month.
Troopers Jordan Berezay, Alek Black and Dallas Slemp all fired their weapons during a law enforcement-involved shooting on June 15.
The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said Ryan Tietsort was suspected of shooting and killing another man during an attempted carjacking in Stateline Village. It was one of multiple carjackings between Spokane Valley and Stateline Village.
Tietsort was shot and killed by police in Spokane Valley. He died of gunshot wounds to the head and neck.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office has already released the name of one deputy who fired his weapon during the same incident.
The Spokane Incident Investigative Response Team is in charge of the investigation into the carjacking and Tietsort’s death.
