SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Spokane Valley Mayor Pam Haley announced Monday that she is taking a short medical leave to focus on her recovery from an undisclosed health issue.
“I’m feeling optimistic about my progress and look forward to returning to my role as your mayor soon,” Haley said in a statement.
During her absence, Deputy Mayor Rod Hattenburg will assume all mayoral duties. Haley expressed full confidence in Hattenburg, the City Council and staff to continue advancing city priorities.
“Thank you for your understanding and support during this time,” she said. “I’m eager to be back with you all soon.”
