OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington Senator Patty Murry is condemning President Trump’s attack on Iran but warns the Middle East country not to escalate.
Iran launched missiles at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar on Monday. Qatari officials say all the misses were intercepted and no injuries were reported. The attack was in response to U.S. bombings on Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend.
On X, Senator Patty Murray condemned Trump’s attack on Iran calling the bombings “reckless” and “not necessary or justified.” However, Sen. Murray warned Iran not to escalate with the United States military.
Senator Murray’s full statement can be seen below:
Thinking of our servicemembers who should never have been put at risk like this. Trump’s reckless attack was not necessary or justified according to ANY intelligence I was briefed on. No strategy. No endgame. But Iran should NOT seek to escalate conflict with our military any further.
