SPOKANE, Wash. — The Lilac Bloomsday Association is accepting applications for its 2026 “Charity of Choice” program, offering one local nonprofit the chance to partner with the region’s beloved running event for its 50th year.
The initiative provides the selected organization with an opportunity to raise awareness, generate donations and connect with tens of thousands of Bloomsday participants who will take part in the milestone race on May 3.
Nonprofits from all sectors can apply for the program. The application requires submissions of no more than two pages that detail the organization’s history and mission, explain how the Charity of Choice designation would benefit their goals, and propose unique fundraising ideas or collaborative opportunities.
The application deadline is July 31. Interested organizations can mail their submissions to the Bloomsday office at 1414 N. Belt, Spokane, WA 99201, or email them to Bloomsday Director of Sponsorship and Communications Bethany Lueck.
The association’s Charity Committee will begin reviewing applications immediately after the deadline, with a final decision expected by early October. All applicants will receive notification of the outcome.
