MEAD, Wash. — Forward progress has been stopped on a wildfire burning in Mead.
Washington Department of Natural Resources says the fire is estimated to be around 1 to 2 acres in size.
Evacuations have been reduced to Level 2 (Be Set) for the area east of Market Street and South of Stoneman Road, including people living on Sorrel Lane and Florida Lane.

Level 3 (LEAVE NOW) evacuations are in place for a fire burning in Mead.
The evacuations are for the area east of Market Street and South of Stoneman Road, including people living on Sorrel Lane and Florida Lane.
Spokane County Fire District 9 says the fire started around 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday. It is spreading fast due to winds and extremely dry conditions in the area.
Multiple structures were threatened by the fire. Firefighters are working to get a line around the fire.
