KAMIAH, ID — A firefighter had to be airlifted to the hospital while battling a wildfire burning near the Nez Perce Reservation.
According to the U.S. Forest Service, one of their firefighters was hit by a tree while at a new wildfire burning in the Salmon River Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest Saturday night around 9 p.m.
USFS says the firefighter was taken by Life Flight to St. Joseph’s in Lewiston before being taken to Sacred Heart in Spokane.
The Forest Service says more information will be released at a later time.
