The Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have recalled over a million eggs sold in multiple states, including Washington, due to Salmonella.
The eggs were sold at grocery stores in Arizona, California, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Washington, and Wyoming.
Recalled eggs include brown cage-free eggs and brown certified organic eggs with sell by dates of March 4, 2025, to June 19, 2025. These eggs were distributed from February 3, 2025, through May 6, 2025 at Walmart locations in Washington.
The FDA says throw away your recalled eggs or return them to where you bought them. Also make sure to wash all items and surfaces that the eggs may have touched.
Severe Salmonella symptoms include diarrhea longer than three days, a fever higher than 102 degrees Fahrenheit, bloody diarrhea, excessive vomiting and dehydration. Symptoms of Salmonella usually start 6 hours or 6 days after swallowing the bacteria.
If you experience these symptoms, call your healthcare provider.
