SPOKANE, Wash – Students at all nine Spokane Public Schools middle schools will have the opportunity to play tackle football starting this fall.
Previously, only flag football was offered across all of the middle schools in the district. Other districts in the area have offered tackle football at the middle school level for years.
Last fall, SPS added tackle football for students in the Rogers High School and Central Valley High School feeder schools.
The district called the endeavor “wildly successful” and will expand the program this fall.
