The family and friends of one of the University of Idaho murder victims are honoring their loved one’s memory with acts of kindness on Sunday.
May 25 is Madison Mogen’s birthday. Mogen and three other University of Idaho students were murdered in an off-campus house in 2022.
In honor of her birthday, Mogen’s aunts founded ‘Maddie May Day’ shortly after she died.
“Madie May lived her life spreading joy to all who knew her. On her birthday, we invite you to carry on Maddie’s legacy and do a random act of kindness in her name,” reads a flyer about the day.
Those wanting to participate can do anything from buying a cup of coffee for a stranger, to baking cookies for a coworker or buying flowers for a friend.
Participants can share their act of kindness with the community and Maddie’s friends and family by sharing a post on social media and using the hashtag “#MaddieMayDay.”
Bryan Kohberger is accused of killing Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves and Ethan Chapin. His trial is set to begin in August.
