SPOKANE, Wash. — If you are hitting the roads with your bicycle during the warmer days, it’s always good to use these bicycle safety tips.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says there are two main types of bicycle-related accidents: falls, which are the most common, and crashes with cars, which are the most serious.
Whether you’re riding for fun, fitness or transportation, make sure to keep these safety tips in mind:
Wear a bicycle helmet.Make sure your tires are inflated and everything is working properly.Know the rules of the road and stay alert at all times.Ride in the right in the same direction as traffic.Avoid road hazards.Keep two hands on the handlebars at all times.Avoid riding at night.Stay alert at all times.
