CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. — The Red Cross wants to make sure you and your family are prepared for the upcoming fire season in our region.
On May 17, the American Red Cross Central & Southeast Washington Chapter will host a wildfire community safety event in Entiat, Washington, about 20 miles north of Wenatchee.
The event aims to educate the community about important wildfire prevention and safety tips. Volunteers and members will discuss how to clear flammable vegetation from your property, create an emergency plan with your loved ones and what supplies you should have in case of a wildfire.
“At the Red Cross we never stop preparing for disasters because we know they can happen anytime anywhere,” said Lacie Clark, Executive Director of the local chapter. “It’s critical that people make their preparations too. Large disasters are occurring almost continuously, and it only takes one to change someone’s life forever.”
The event is open to the public and will take place at the Entiat Fire Station (2200 Entiat Way) from 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
