MOSES LAKE, Wash. — The Moses Lake School District planned to host a town hall to educate people on youth gang activity and prevention on May 13, 2025.
The district partnered with the North Central Educational Service District, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, and the Moses Lake Police Department for the free event.
The agencies planned to cover topics like what types of gangs operate in Grant County, behaviors and indicators are of gang involvement in teens, types of markers that indicate gang affiliation, and preventative steps the community can take.
“Keeping students safe is at the heart of everything we do,” said Ryan Shannon, director of public relations for the Moses Lake School District. “This event offers a chance for families and community members to come together, learn, and partner with us to foster a safer and more connected community.”
Parents, caregivers, educators, and community members were encouraged to attend from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Learning Services Center at 1620 South Pioneer Way.
