SPOKANE, Wash. — Have unwanted batteries around your home? Get rid of them for free this Saturday at the Northtown Mall.
The City of Spokane is hosting a Battery Take Back event in the Northtown Mall Parking Lot on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Bring your lithium-ion battery items that you may not need anymore and drive through to drop them off.
Lithium-ion batteries can be found in everything from cell phones to yard tools to vape pens and more.
The city said these batteries have the potential to overheat, catch fire and even cause explosions.
