SPOKANE, Wash. — Flags around Spokane and Washington will be flown at half-staff through the weekend to honor firefighters and first responders who lost their lives last year.
Saturday, May 3 is National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.
Washington Governor Bob Ferguson issued a directive to lower state and U.S. flags to honor those first responders.
“National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service is a day to honor the firefighters and emergency personnel who lost their lives in 2024,” Mayor Lisa Brown said. “I encourage anyone with a flag outside their home or business to join us in recognizing these heroes.”
