Spokane, Wash.–With more cases and videos like the one of Martin Diaz’ arrest circulating, people across the country are protesting President Trump’s policies targeting immigrants.
On Thursday evening, local group Latinos en Spokane organized a May Day March.
“Today’s theme is to stand with immigrants, to stand in solidarity, and to call for an end to deportations,” said Jorge Guerrero, Immigration & Environmental Justice Organizer with Latinos en Spokane.
The march began at the Clocktower in Riverfront Park and proceeded to the Ice Age Playground. A large crowd of demonstrators carried signs and chanted in opposition to the Trump administration’s immigration agenda.
