SPOKANE, Wash. – A man was arrested for exposing himself at a downtown Spokane hotel and trying to grab a young girl.
According to police, calls came in around 6 p.m. Saturday about 39-year-old Jody D. Cochran who was exposing himself in the parking lot of a hotel on West 3rd Avenue.
Cochran had been causing problems throughout the day, including throwing rocks at the hotel windows.
The owner of one vehicle in the parking lot said Cochran broke into his car and continued sexual activity.
Police said Cochran approached a young girl sitting on the balcony of one of the hotel room and tried to grab her. The girl’s father ran toward Cochran, yelling. Cochran then left and the girl went inside the hotel room.
SPD said Cochran returned to the parking lot where officers ordered him to stop. Cochran took off running, but officers were able to arrest him with some resistance.
Officers found what they believed to be methamphetamine on Cochran at the time of the arrest.
When in the patrol car, officers said Cochran made inappropriate comments about the young girl.
Cochran was booked into Spokane County Jail for indecent exposure with sexual motivation, assault with sexual motivation, vehicle prowling with sexual motivation and resisting arrest.
SPD said Cochran is 6 time convicted felon for charges including assault, robbery and possession of a controlled substance. He also had previous misdemeanor charges of failing to register as a sex offender, indecent exposure, and trespassing.
