SPOKANE, Wash. — A federal grand jury has indicted a previously convicted sex offender for new charges in eastern Washington.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 45-year-old Michael Trout faces charges of abusive sexual contact with a minor, possession of child pornography, and committing a sexual offense while being a sex offender.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says the National Park Service began an investigation in January of 2025 looking into incidents that allegedly occurred in July 2024 in the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area.
Trout was identified as the suspected, located and arrested. He made his first court appearance April 4.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Trout has a previous rape conviction and was required to register as a sex offender.
