Blue Origin completed its latest spaceflight Monday with a historic all-female crew. The mission, NS-31 (aka the 11th human flight and 31st overall for Jeff Bezos’s space tourism company), lasted just about 11 minutes — quicker than most group texts decide where to eat.
The all-star lineup included aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, activist Amanda Nguyen, CBS Mornings host Gayle King, pop icon Katy Perry, film producer Kerianne Flynn, and Lauren Sánchez — author, philanthropist, and Bezos’s fiancée. So yeah, kind of a big deal.
Despite its blink-and-you-miss-it runtime, it was a huge leap for women in space. Though, in a now-deleted post, Lady Gaga claimed she’s had farts longer than that. We’re not saying she’s wrong… just that maybe next time they’ll stay up long enough to finish a Beyoncé song.
Still, props to these ladies for making history — even if it was at warp speed.
✨ Weightless and limitless.
