COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Police are searching for a man who attempted to grab a young girl in the Landings Neighborhood on Sunday afternoon, according to Coeur d’Alene Police Department.
Around 11:15 a.m. on April 6, CDAPD responded to a report of a man trying to grab an 11-year-old girl on North Bedford Lane.
The girl told police she was walking her dog when a man approached her and asked to pet the dog.
He then followed her and made an inappropriate comment.
The man then tried to grab the girl’s arm, but she was able to get away and run to a nearby home for safety.
CDAPD said the man is described as being in his late teens or early twenties, and of average height and weight. He was wearing all-black clothing, including a hat, sweatshirt, pants and dark shoes.
“The Coeur d’Alene Police Department stresses the importance of open conversations between parents and children regarding personal safety, especially in recognizing and reacting to dangerous situations,” the department wrote in a press release.
Anyone with information about this suspect should call CDAPD at 208-769-2320.
