SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — A woman was arrested after a SWAT standoff eight miles north of Mead on Monday, according to Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 12 p.m. on March 31, SCSO deputies responded to a home near Dalton Road and Hazard Road to perform a welfare check requested by a family member of the resident.
The caller told deputies they had not had contact with the woman living in the home or her 4-month-old son for about a month.
Deputies identified the woman as 38-year-old Lacey Albin and learned she had an order of protection preventing her from contacting her 4-month-old.
When deputies arrived at the home, Albin would not open the door and became uncooperative.
SWAT and a crisis negotiation team were called to assist.
Around 4 p.m., SWAT entered the home and removed the infant. During her arrest, Albin kicked a deputy in the chest.
SCSO found a 9mm pistol and ammunition in the home.
Albin was booked into Spokane County Jail for third-degree assault, violating a court order and obstructing.
