CHENEY, Wash. — Local organizations in Cheney want to make sure you have a safe way to get rid of your old medication.
On Saturday, April 12, you can drop off your unused or expired medication at the ‘Medication Take Back Event’, hosted by Cheney Clean Sweep, Talk2HealthyChoices, Cheney Police Department and other local partners.
If medicine is not properly disposed, it can pollute local water sources, threatening the wildlife and drinking water. It can also end up in the wrong hands.
“Nearly half of people misusing pain relievers, including prescription opioids, get them from a friend or family member,” according to Talk2HealthChoices.
The event will take place in the Cheney Bi-Mart Parking Lot (2221 1st Street) from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
