PULLMAN, Wash. — March is National Nutrition Month and Pullman residents are invited to celebrate through a series of community events.
In 1973, The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics founded National Nutrition Month to educate and spread awareness about the importance of healthy eating and physical activity.
This year, the annual campaign’s theme is ‘Food Connects Us’ and focuses on how shared meals promote special traditions, memories and community wellbeing.
Throughout the month of March, people in Pullman can attend a series of events on topics such as home cooking, creating positive eating environments for children, homegrown and locally grown food and cooking on a budget.
All events are free, include fun activities for kids and dinner is provided weekly.
The series is presented by Pullman Public Schools, Pullman Parks and Recreation, Community Action Center, Disability Action Center Northwest and Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU.
