SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women’s basketball wasn’t able to close out their home campaign on a high note, letting the San Francisco Dons claim a two-point victory on the Zags’ Senior Day.
Seniors Yvonne Ejim and Maud Hujibens led Gonzaga in a hard-fought battle against the Dons that included 12 lead changes throughout all 40 minutes. Ejim scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. Hujibens tallied 16 points and six rebounds.
Five seniors were recognized: Yvonne Ejim, Maud Hujibens, Esther Little, Bree Salenbien and Tayla Dalton. Salenbien has one year of eligibility left and hasn’t decided if she will return for a final year.
This would’ve been the Zags 15th straight win if they pulled it off. They are looking ahead to Pacific on Thursday. Tipoff in the Bay Area is at 6 p.m.
