SPOKANE, Wash. — Thrive International is permanently closing after 4 1/2 years of helping refugee families in Spokane.
Thrive International released a statement saying the decision to close was not made lightly and that its priority throughout the process “has been the wellbeing and dignity of the individuals served by Thrive International.”
The organization also said “all residents currently living at Thrive’s two residential sites are being transitioned into safe, stable, and appropriate housing arrangements.”
Thrive International said it is also providing support “to staff as they navigate this challenging period.”
Shelly Crocker, the court-appointed receiver, said, “Although this recommendation is difficult, we are proud that our focus has remained on ensuring every resident is transitioned to safe, stable housing with the care and dignity they deserve. We are equally grateful to the staff, volunteers, donors, and board members whose dedication allowed Thrive to serve many people facing vulnerability and uncertainty over the years.”
Thrive International’s operations are expected to conclude by the end of the year, pending court approval.
