SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Two men were shot during a Halloween party attended by more than 70 people early Sunday morning, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 1:45 a.m. Nov. 1 to reports of gunfire in the 10300 block of East Upriver Drive.
Deputies found one man with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to a hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. A second man was taken to another hospital by partygoers after also being shot in the leg.
Investigators believe an argument escalated into gunfire involving two shooters. Deputies recovered shell casings, live ammunition and other evidence at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office said several witnesses were uncooperative. Investigators do not believe the shooting was random, and there is no known ongoing threat to the public.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective S. Bonney at 509-477-3125 and reference case No. 10156189.
