SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash – With the change in weather and seasons, fire marshals and cities in Spokane County are lifting burn restrictions that have been in place since early summer.
As of Friday, recreational campfires and fires in approved devices are allowed, along with prescribed burning on state lands.
Burning trash and yard debris and using burn barrels is still prohibited.
“Restrictions can vary depending on where you live, the time of year and current air quality,” said Spokane Valley Fire Marshal Brett Anderson. “It’s everyone’s responsibility to burn safely and follow local regulations. A little preparation can go a long way toward preventing fires, protecting your neighbors and keeping our community safe.”
Before you burn, you could check with the agency that has local jurisdiction.
