SPOKANE, Wash. — Newly released body camera footage from the Spokane Police Department shows officers going door to door as they tried to evacuate residents from neighborhoods threatened by fast-moving wildfires on Saturday, Aug. 1.
The footage, recorded over several hours that afternoon, shows officers knocking on doors at homes along West Sutherlin Place, West Holyoke Avenue and West Jillian Avenue as fires spread through the area.
Timestamps on the videos range from about 1:26 p.m. to 5:23 p.m., offering a look at officers’ efforts as the fire emergency unfolded.
