SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Firefighters in Spokane Valley helped with a unique water rescue on Friday.
According to the Spokane Valley Fire Department, volunteers from Humane Evacuation Animal Rescue Team reached out to the fire department on Friday to help get a cow moose out of a backyard pond.
Crews tried several options to get the moose back on dry land, including building a ladder ramp, but the moose wasn’t quite ready to use it.
One final effort was made, and the cow was able to climb out of the pond and returned to grazing nearby.
The fire department says she had been stuck in the pond for about five hours, but did not have any serious injuries.
