POST FALLS, Idaho — A woman was found dead inside her Post Falls home Friday night, and three days later, neighbors want to know if they are safe.
Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies went to the home around 7:15 p.m. Friday after someone called to report they hadn’t seen the woman in days. Family members gave deputies keys to enter the home, where they found her dead.
The sheriff’s office has shared little information about the case and has not identified the victim.
Neighbors said they saw deputies surround the home Friday night but had no idea it was connected to a homicide.
One nearby resident said she wants answers.
“We don’t know if they have a suspect if it was random. And so, you know, I think we would just like to know if we need to be concerned for our safety and if we need to take extra precautions,” she said. She declined to give her name.
Other neighbors said the area is typically quiet and they were shocked by the news. They saw one deputy driving through the neighborhood Sunday but have not seen law enforcement since.
The sheriff’s office said it could not disclose whether investigators have identified a suspect.
