SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash – Animal protection officers with Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service (SCRAPS), in partnership with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office seized a total of 36 animals.
The animals were 24 sheep, 9 goats, 2 cats, and 1 donkey.
All the animals are now receiving care at secure, undisclosed locations to ensure their safety and well-being.
The property is well known to SCRAPS due to multiple prior animal cruelty investigations, several of which resulted in convictions.
The case will be referred to the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office for potential charges, including animal cruelty, unsafe confinement, and violations of court-ordered animal possession bans.
SCRAPS extends its gratitude to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office for their collaboration, as well as to the dedicated volunteers and local veterinarians who assisted with onsite assessments and the safe transport of the animals.
