SPOKANE, Wash. — Rep. Michael Baumgartner wrote to the Ambassador of Egypt on Saturday, welcoming the Egyptian National Team to Spokane for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“As the Member of Congress representing Eastern Washington and a Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee, I am honored to welcome the Egyptian National Team to Spokane,” said Congressman Baumgartner.
Rep. Baumgartner also requested that practices be open to kids and the Eastern Washington community.
“I hope there will be opportunities for families and young people across Eastern Washington to see these world-class athletes up close,” he said. “Their presence will inspire the next generation and leave a lasting impact on our region.”
Spokane will be hosting Team Egypt as they train on the grounds of Gonzaga University in advance of the team’s World Cup matches in Seattle.
