Interstate 90 is now open and drivers can cross the state using Snoqualmie Pass.
WSDOT closed I-90 between North Bend and Cle Elum most of Friday and overnight because of crashes and road conditions.
Crews reported severe compact snow and ice.
“Spring storms bring freeze/thaw/freeze conditions, essentially turning I-90 into an ice rink,” WSDOT posted on Twitter/X.
22 inches of new snow fell overnight.
Drivers who don’t have vehicles with AWD will need to use chains over the pass.
