Spokane, WASH. — The late-winter snowstorm in the Pacific Northwest is causing disruptions at airports. 43 flights in and out of Spokane International Airport on Friday were delayed as of 5:30 p.m.
According to FlightAware, 21 flights have been canceled so far.
Sea-Tac Airport issued a ground stop this morning due to ice and snow in western Washington. FlightAware data shows, as of 12:45 p.m., the average departure delay is 1 hours 26 minutes. So far, Sea-Tac has had 343 cancellations and 478 delays.
Travelers are running into trouble on the roads as well. I-90 at Snoqualmie Pass is closed in both directions due to the heavy snowfall, and the WSDOT expects it to remain closed for much of the day as crews clear the roads and fallen trees over the freeway.
