MOSCOW, Idaho — More than a dozen animals were injured or killed in a mobile home fire in Moscow Thursday.
The Moscow Fire Department was called to a single-wide mobile home fire on Palouse River Road west of Highway 95 around 5 p.m.
Firefighters arrived and people told them there were animals still inside the home.
When firefighters opened the door, several dogs left on their own, but many more remained inside.
Moscow Fire says 17 dogs and cats were located. Of those, several died and seven were taken to veterinary hospitals.
No humans were injured. The mobile home was a total loss, and the cause is under investigation.
