Okay. As a lifelong Hilary Duff fan… this one healed something in me.
Hilary went on Call Her Daddy and finally addressed the iconic early-2000s feud with Lindsay Lohan — and yes, she talked about the premiere moment.
When asked if she intentionally crashed the 2003 premiere of Freaky Friday, Hilary said:
“I think absolutely yes. I was a teenager.”
The honesty. The growth. The very millennial self-awareness.
She shared that Chad Michael Murray — who starred in Freaky Friday and was her A Cinderella Story leading man — invited her.
“Chad Michael Murray invited me,” she said. “I don’t wanna start any more stuff, But, like, he was like, ‘You should come with me.’ And I was like, ‘Mhmm. Probably I should.’ ”
Tell me that isn’t peak 2003 decision-making.
When asked if she was surprised Lindsay later showed up at the premiere of Cheaper by the Dozen, Hilary said:
“No.”
And then added:
“I mean, that was, like, my childhood nemesis. I’m sure my publicist will be like, what the f— are you doing? But now it’s so many years later. Like, who cares? It does not matter.”
Honestly? We love a mature queen.
She also shared that years later, the two ran into each other at a club.
“Lindsay came up to me at a club once and was like, ‘Are we good?’ And I was like, ‘We’re good.’ She was like, ‘Let’s take a shot.’ I’m like, ‘Okay.’ It was amazing.”
The millennial peace treaty we didn’t know we needed.
Of course, some of the drama traced back to the late Aaron Carter. Hilary explained:
“This is where all this stuff started. There was no social media to be like, who was dating who?”
“You just take people’s word for it and then people get mad at you. I mean if you’re, like, Lindsay Lohan or me, he’s, like, probably dating both of us, like, you know what I mean?”
She even talked about first meeting him at his birthday party — casually attended by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and Amanda Bynes — and later having him appear on Lizzie McGuire.
I mean… we lived through this era. We chose sides. We read the magazines.
And now? They’re grown, laughing about it, and taking shots together.
Honestly, that feels like closure for all of us.
