SPOKANE, Wash – The Inland Northwest takes pride in caring for veterans and their families. This week, Mark Peterson and the 4 News Now Extreme Team will put muscle and labor behind that support to help two local organizations.
This week, Mark and the team are working on office space for Veterans Community Response and Washington State Fallen Heroes.
The organizations previously had no office space, but are growing to help more veterans and their families.
They’ve moved in side-by-side at 1800 E. Holyoke in North Spokane.
Mark and the Extreme Team, complete with support and volunteers from Horizon Credit Union, will be repairing walls, replacing flooring and creating a gathering space for Veterans Community Response.
The organization connects veterans with other veterans to help with everything from tree trimming to household chores.
The Extreme Team will help with lighting in the Fallen Heroes offices and also help create storage space.
Fallen Heroes creates memorials and banners for Gold Star families, which are families who lose an immediate family member in the line of duty.
You can watch Mark and the team at work all week on 4 News Now.
