KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — Kootenai County Fire and Rescue crews helped a small deer that became trapped on the ice at Fernan Lake on Monday.
Firefighters were able to safely free the deer and guide it back to shore. The deer ran off unharmed.
Fire and Rescue says ice conditions can change quickly and are often more dangerous than they appear.
If you see wildlife or a person in trouble on the ice, call 911 and let first responders handle it.
