SPOKANE, Wash. — A woman was shot Tuesday afternoon in a north Spokane neighborhood and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Spokane Police Department.
At approximately 3 p.m., SPD responded to a reported shooting at a home near the intersection of East Decatur Avenue and North Perry Street in the Whitman neighborhood of Spokane
Emergency dispatchers were told an adult female had been shot and was found in the front yard of the residence. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries, which police described as non-life-threatening.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are on scene assisting with the investigation. Police said they are actively looking for the suspect, though no arrests have been made at this time.
SPD said there is no current threat to the public.
