MILLWOOD, Wash. — A volunteer with Spokane County S.C.O.P.E. hit a pedestrian with a vehicle sending her to the hospital Thursday morning.
According to Washington State Patrol, a 77-year-old man was driving county-owned S.C.O.P.E. vehicle west on Montgomery Avenue near Argonne Road around 7:45 a.m.
WSP says the driver ran a red light and hit a pedestrian who was crossing the road.
The 61-year-old woman was taken to Sacred Heart. The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office says her injuries were not life-threatening.
WSP says the driver is not facing felony charges but was cited at the scene for failing to stop at a traffic signal. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected.
