Spokane Valley, WASH. — Spokane Valley Sheriff’s Deputies say a man was impaired when he crashed and rolled his car with his young son inside.
Deputies say it happened around 3:45 this morning near the intersection of N. Houk Road and E. Mansfield Avenue. 38-year-old Adam L. Powe was booked into jail on several felony and misdemeanor charges.
Investigators says Powe tried to leave the scene with his son but was confronted by several witnesses, and a fight ensued. Powe allegedly pulled out a knife and threatened to stab the witnesses, but they were able to disarm him.
The Sheriff’s Office says Powe and the boy, who suffered a substantial laceration during the crash, were transported to the hospital. The witnesses were not injured.
Powe was charged with Vehicular Assault, Felony Harassment (2 counts), DUI, Reckless Endangerment, and Assault 4th Degree (2 counts).
After he was medically cleared, he was booked into jail.
