Okanogan County, WASH. — Law enforcement officers say a man was shot and killed a man near Tonasket while they were serving a search warrant on December 19th.
The North Central Washington Special Investigations Unit (NCWSIU) is investigating. It’s a multi-jurisdictional investigative team comprised of members from the Wenatchee Police Department, Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and the East Wenatchee Police Department.
NCWSIU wrote in a press release:
During the early morning hours of December 19th members of the U.S. Marshals Service Special Operations Group, along with the Washington State Patrol SWAT Team, were executing a nationwide arrest warrant for a male at a residence located approximately 17 miles northeast of Tonasket in Okanogan County. The individual was wanted on two counts of Assault in the Second Degree and one count of Intimidating a Public Servant.During the execution of the warrant, the suspect who was armed with a shotgun, contacted members of the Marshals Service SOG. An officer-involved shooting occurred, and the suspect was declared deceased at the scene.
The release states the investigation is active and ongoing. They have not released the name of the man who was killed.
