BENEWAH COUNTY, Idaho — St. Maries School District and Plummer-Worley Joint School District will remain closed Friday, December 19, for all staff and students as both districts deal with widespread storm damage throughout Benewah County.
The closures affect all schools in both districts due to multiple safety concerns including power outages, hazardous road conditions, and downed trees blocking access routes.
Despite the school closures, athletic teams plan to proceed with scheduled away games and matches on Friday and Saturday. Parents and students should expect additional information from athletic coaches regarding travel plans and any possible schedule changes.
Families should watch for further communications from both districts regarding the status of Monday’s classes and any additional schedule changes.
