SANDPOINT, Idaho — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying suspects who stole a lawn mower from a Sandpoint residence last month.
The theft occurred Nov. 23 at approximately 11 p.m. at 1630 Baldy Mountain Road, according to the Sandpoint Police Department. Thieves made off with a 2022 Bobcat Zero-turn lawn mower that was loaded on a black single-axle trailer equipped with a white toolbox at the front, police said.
Investigators have identified the suspect vehicle as a Chevrolet Silverado crew cab with four doors, according to police. The truck appears to be either a 4×4 or Z71 model, based on decals visible on the rear bed quarter panels, authorities said.
The vehicle has several distinguishing characteristics that police hope will help the public identify it. The passenger side is missing its chrome rocker panel, and the truck is equipped with running boards on both sides, according to the police report. No license plates were visible on the vehicle during the theft, police said.
Police noted the truck may have damage to the front passenger quarter panel, though the cause of the potential damage was not specified in the report.
At least two suspects were involved in the theft — a driver and a passenger, according to police.
The Sandpoint Police Department is urging anyone with information about the theft or the suspect vehicle to contact Detective Ryan at the number provided in the original report.
This theft represents one of several property crimes that have occurred in the Sandpoint area in recent months, highlighting the importance of securing outdoor equipment and reporting suspicious activity to law enforcement.
The investigation remains active, and police continue to follow up on leads related to the case, authorities said.
