SHOSHONE COUNTY, Idaho — The former interim Shoshone County Sheriff, Lance Stutzke, resigned Thursday according to a patrol captain in the department.
Stutzke served as the undersheriff since 2022, and assumed the role of interim sheriff after Sheriff Holly Lindsay resigned in October. Lindsay was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run crash in her personal vehicle while off duty on October 21.
On Tuesday, the board of commissioners appointed Will Eddy to become the next Sheriff of Shoshone County.
4 News Now confirmed the news with Captain Seth Green, who spoke about Stutzke’s service to the county.
“The man was incredibly loved by his deputies the agencies and the community. He has put over 20 years of service to Shoshone county. He has got a heart of gold. He has given so much time and loving to this group. He has made an incredibly difficult choice, but one that is best for his family,” Green said.
