Itโs going to be another smoky day around the Inland Northwest. There will be some improvements in air quality this weekend, but some of us will have to wait for a while.
What Weโre Tracking
Friday
Smoke will continue to be trapped over the Inland Northwest Friday and a decent chunk of Saturday. Winds shifting out of the south tonight will help clear some smoke out of the Palouse. Temperatures rise to the 80s but may not reach the 90s in areas where the smoke is especially thick.
This Weekend
Along I-90 and in our northern counties, air quality wonโt change that much on Saturday. It will have to wait until Saturday night. Scattered thunderstorms are possible late Saturday night into early Sunday morning. Winds will blow these storms north through our region and up into Canada, taking some of the smoke with them.
Beyond
Temperatures will cool significantly early next week, down into the 70s with a chance of scattered rain each day. Air quality is likely to improve as fires become less active in the cooler and wetter weather.
